Kathy is dual-qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales and an Attorney-at-Law in the Philippines, with over 13 years of experience advising on complex, cross-border financings.
She has a strong international background and legal training across civil and common law jurisdictions, which enables her to support clients operating in diverse regulatory environments, particularly in Europe, Asia and emerging markets.
Kathy advises on a broad range of export credit agency backed financings, project finance and acquisition finance. Her practice focusses on the energy and infrastructure sectors, including renewables, transport and digital infrastructure. She regularly acts for commercial lenders, ECAs, sponsors and developers, providing strategic legal support across all stages of financing transactions – from structuring and documentation to financial close.
- Advising a consortium of lenders comprising leading global infrastructure investors Infranity, I Squared Capital and Rivage Investment on the €410m mezzanine financing of MaxSolar GmbH’s German solar portfolio, one of the largest solar development financings in Germany to date.
- Advising Deutsche Bank AG on the US$250m refinancing of the 470MW Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan, awarded Structured Finance Deal of the Year 2022 at the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Turkey Awards.
- Advising J.P. Morgan and SACE on the ECA-backed financing of Türkiye’s first luxury designer outlet near Istanbul Airport, a Project Finance Award-winning transaction involving seven jurisdictions and multiple stakeholders.
- Advising UniCredit Bank GmbH on the €25m ECA-backed financing of three Airbus H145 rescue helicopters for Italy’s Elifriulia S.p.A., a multi-jurisdictional transaction governed by English, German, Italian, and Spanish law.
- Advising BayernLB and Garanti BBVA as lenders on the financing of the 96 MW Gökcen wind farm project in Turkey, supported by German ECA cover.
