Janet is a Senior Associate in the Projects group.

Janet advises on the development, acquisition and disposal of energy and natural resources projects and assets, with particular strength in cross‑border transactions involving China and Southeast Asian jurisdictions. Janet regularly acts for Chinese state‑owned enterprises and private companies on outbound M&A, acquisition financing, project development and joint venture matters with international partners. She has extensive experience across the LNG value chain, including LNG sale and purchase agreements and terminal development. Her broader practice spans upstream and downstream petroleum and mining projects.

Janet also has significant experience supporting clients in equity and debt transactions.

She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

  • Advising Chalco Iron Ore Holdings on the Simandou project in Guinea, one of world’s largest iron ore and related port and rail infrastructure projects.
  • Advising Medco Energi on its US$1.355bn acquisition from ConocoPhillips of a 54% working interest in the Corridor Block and a 35% interest in the Transasia Pipeline Company, operator of the Grissik-Duri and Grissik-Singapore pipeline systems which supply gas under long-term contracts to Indonesian and Singaporean buyers – named Energy Council Deal of the Year for Asia Pacific in 2022.
  • Advising a confidential client on the development of a mining project with local partners through a joint venture in an East Asian jurisdiction.
  • Advising a confidential client on the restructuring of its oil and gas portfolio and the further acquisition of partners’ interests across South American jurisdictions including Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Bolivia, etc.
  • Advising a US mining company on the development of a proposed LNG-to-power project in Indonesia, including development of a floating LNG receiving terminal and downstream pipeline, to transition from diesel and coal-fired power plant currently used in its mining operations to gas-fired power plant.
  • Advising Novatek Asia on its Chinese joint venture investments with a Chinese company in the LNG terminal and LNG trading.
  • Advising Invista on the development of its adiponitrile plant in Shanghai, China, including advising on gas purchase, commodity sales and port handling and storage arrangements.
  • Advising Roc Oil (subsidiary of Fosun International Limited) on its acquisition of the entire ownership interest of EOG Resources China Limited concerning certain operating interest in Bajiaochang gasfield in Sichuan, China.
  • Advising on the share, asset acquisition, disposal of oil and gas, mining interests and assets in the Southeastern Asian jurisdictions including Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodian, Bangladeshi, Thailand and South American jurisdictions including Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Bolivia, etc.
  • Advising on LNG sale and purchase agreements, heads of agreements and master sale agreements with buyers and sellers in China, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the United States.
