Georgia Asimakopoulos

Georgia is Counsel in the Assets & Structured Finance Group.
She specialises in the representation of banks and other financial institutions, in the financing of newbuilding and second hand vessels under syndicated and bilateral loan and mezzanine facilities.
She also has experience in advising banks on the restructuring of ship finance deals and bank portfolio transfers. She acts for major international lenders in the European and Asian markets.
She is also highly qualified in advising owners in relation to shipbuilding contracts and both owners, charterers and back-financiers in sale and leaseback transactions.
Georgia is qualified in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Greece and England & Wales.
- Advising Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank in its role as facility agent and lender on a US$300m term loan facility granted to Global Ship Lease for the refinancing of ten of its container vessels.
- Advising First Citizens Bank, on its acquisition of a US$123m portfolio of 11 shipping loans previously held by HSBC Bank PLC.
- Advising CIT Bank, N.A. in relation to a US$34.25m term loan facility provided to subsidiaries of Globus Maritime Limited for the refinancing of its fleet of dry-bulk vessels.
