David is a Partner in the projects group.
With expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors, David advises borrowers, sponsors, export credit agencies and procurers on complex cross-border financings. His expertise encompasses project, leveraged and Islamic finance, as well as general lending, where he has acted for clients in the UK, Asian, Middle Eastern, American and European markets.
- NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: advising the commercial lenders and SACE on a US$3bn SACE-backed dual currency facility for NEOM, benefitting from a guarantee from the Public Investment Fund.
- SATORP Refinery and Amiral Petrochemicals Complex, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: advising the existing lenders to the SATORP refinery and the lenders to the Amiral Petrochemicals Complex expansion (including multiple ECAs and commercial banks) in relation to the US$15bn financing of the expansion project (sponsored by Saudi Aramco and Total) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Shuweihat S4 RO IWP, Abu Dhabi, UAE: advising TAQA, as shareholder, on the development of the EWEC tendered low-carbon desalination plant.
- Galaxy II, Abu Dhabi, UAE: advising ADQ and Abu Dhabi Pension Fund on the financing aspects of their acquisition of a minority interest in ADNOC’s gas pipelines.
- Warsan waste-to-energy, Dubai, UAE: advising the project company on the ECA and commercial lender project financing of this waste-to-energy plant, the world’s largest waste-to-energy project to date.
