Charlotte is a Partner in the Assets and Structured Finance group.
Charlotte is based in our Dubai office and specialises in Maritime. Charlotte has been with WFW since 2014 where she joined as a trainee in London before moving to the Dubai office in the summer of 2018.
Charlotte works on a variety of domestic and cross-border commercial and finance transactions advising a diverse group of clients including PE funds, banks, shipowners and operators and lessors. Although based in Dubai, Charlotte regularly advises European and US based clients as well as those located in the ME region.
Charlotte has a wide range of finance experience having advised clients on term, revolving and accordion loan facilities, sale and leaseback structures including JOLCOs and Islamic leasing as well as loan portfolio sales, debt restructuring and acquisition financing.
One the commercial side, Charlotte has extensive experience in sale and purchase transactions advising sellers and buyers of all types and sizes of vessels. She also advises on charterparty negotiations and newbuilding contracts.
In Chambers Global 2024, Charlotte was ranked as an ‘Associate to Watch’ where she was described as “very much in control of the process and is good at keeping track of anything that may jeopardise timelines”, “knows her clients and the shipping sector very well” and “hard-working and clever”. In 2025 she retained her ranking and continued “earn[ing] strong praise from the firm’s clients”. Charlotte was further recognised in both the Shipping and Banking and Finance categories of Legal 500 EMEA 2024 where she was listed as a Key Lawyer.
- Advising a group of 30 international and local banks on the successful financing of the US$14bn merger between Hapag-Lloyd and United Arab Shipping Company.
- Advising Hamburg Commercial Bank on a US$95m senior secured term loan facility to Hamburg Bulk Carriers to refinance seven Liberian flagged vessels.
