Join Watson Farley & Williams for our webinar on ‘Current requirements for broadband expansion’ on 26 October.
The new federal funding programme “Grey Spots” has been in force for a few months, with which the so-called take-up threshold was raised to 100 MBit/s in download. This means that, in the future, subsidised broadband expansion will also be possible for areas that have been supplied with VDSL up to now. In addition, under certain conditions, existing infrastructure can be overbuilt with a gigabit-capable network in the future. These innovations are flanked by a recent modernisation of the Telecommunications Act, in which, among other things, the regulations for granting non-discriminatory access to infrastructure and services (“open access”) on the one hand and the possibility of shared use or relocation on the other hand were concretised.
With the webinar, we would like to inform about the relevant requirements and address the question of whether more speed in broadband expansion can be expected as a result or whether obstacles still exist. Following the presentation, there will be the option to put your questions to our expert Dr Felix Siebler.
Please note that the webinar will be in German and we kindly ask you to register your interest in attending by registering via the ‘Register your interest’ button or by emailing events_germany@wfw.com.
