Job Description: Business Development and Marketing Assistant
Department: Global Business Development
Reporting to: Business Development Manager

The role

The role will require a self-motivated person who is capable of supporting the Business Development Manager based in France on a daily basis and occasionally the wider Business Development team across Italy, Spain and Greece in the management of existing client relationships and the development of new business opportunities. Your main role will be to assist the Business Development Manager in implementing business and marketing plans and in organising campaigns to grow new and existing business.

Key Activities

Business Development / Marketing Support

  • Assisting in drafting and updating marketing materials including brochures, briefings, email campaigns, lawyers’ biographies and other collateral (translations when necessary).
  • Assisting with the internal and external communication aspects to raise the profile of the firm and individuals through the intranet, website and social media updates (in conjunction with the London Communications team).
  • Assisting in coordinating directory submissions, league tables and awards.
  • Supporting with the organisation of client events including email campaigns and onsite logistics.
  • Assisting in the creation of pitches and credentials statements.
  • Supporting with market research and press reviews.
  • Monitor key market conference attendance to develop/maintain market positions matched to the business strategy and generate leads for the Partners/practice.
  • Capturing, updating and maintaining the pitch and deals databases, ensuring information is up to date at all times.
  • Championing the use of our CRM system ensuring all relevant information is in the system (business/marketing activities)
  • Involvement and support in firmwide projects as appropriate.

Required

  • Business School or University Master degree in Business, Marketing or Law.
  • Fluent in French and in English.
  • Computer-literate to fully master software used to produce marketing materials, emailing campaigns, databases and CRM systems.
  • Comfortable working in an international environment.
  • The ability to work effectively with and influence partners and others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills.
  • Very strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to understand product and service development issues.
  • Well-organised with the ability to take responsibility for and lead specific projects.
  • Tenacity to see projects and tasks through to completion.
  • Good team-working/building skills.

Our Greek-law Project and Structured Finance group is looking for highly-motivated trainees for its multidisciplinary transaction and regulatory team.  Our trainees are involved in all aspects of our busy Athens practice, including energy, banking and finance, shipping, real estate and litigation. You will be involved throughout the transaction in a client-facing position on challenging mandates, and learn the craft of a business lawyer first-hand. In addition to practical work, you will be supported by us throughout your training to help you develop into a well-rounded professional.

Requirements:

  • You have a keen interest in business and finance and have completed a degree in Greek law with above-average success.
  • You are communicative, flexible, technically excellent and like working in a team.

Junior Accountant, Athens 

We are currently seeking to recruit a Junior Accountant to be part of our local Accounts team in Athens.

Job Description:

  • Accounts and bookkeeping, up to trial balance
  • Preparation of Tax returns (VAT, withholding tax, corporate tax etc.)
  • Participation with Financial Statements and profit and loss function
  • Internal Audits related to accounting /financial procedures
  • Cash management, over all banking and cash reconciliation

Qualifications/Skills required:

  • If applicable, to have completed army obligations
  • Accounts degree from a TEI or AEI
  • Native Greek speaker with a very good command of written and verbal English
  • At least 3 years working experience as a junior accountant

We offer two year training contracts in the Hong Kong office. During the two years, there will be a four seat rotation programme in our Corporate, Energy and Projects, Finance and Litigation practices. Your training contract will be hands-on, with as much experience of clients and real work as possible. You’ll also benefit from plenty of exposure to partners and associates. You can apply either:

Our vacation scheme is the best way to familiarise yourself with WFW. The two-week placements at our Hong Kong office take place in January and in the summer. During the placement, you will work in one of our practice groups. This will give us a chance to get to know you, and for you to get a taste of life as a trainee. The role

  • Developing and line managing a junior member of the Hong Kong BD team.
  • Drafting and updating marketing materials, including web content and other collateral.
  • Raising the profile of the Partners/practice via various communication channels including social media, the website and WFW intranet.

  • Championing the use of all BD systems, including our CRM system ensuring all relevant information is in the system.
