WFW boosts German Energy & Infrastructure practice with first Partner hire of 20192 January 2019

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to start 2019 with the announcement that regulatory expert Dr Friedrich Maximilian Boemke joins the firm as a Partner in Hamburg. Prior to joining WFW, Maximilian was a Salaried Partner with respected local Hamburg law firm Corinius.

Maximilian’s extensive expertise spans energy, public, planning, environmental and state aid law, as well as energy related disputes and supply and trading contracts. His client base is primarily comprised of private energy and chemical trading companies and banks active in the renewable and conventional energy and infrastructure sectors, as well as in regulated industries.

Marcus Bechtel, WFW Germany Head, commented: “Maximilian is a fantastic new addition to our German regulatory practice, following on from the hire of Felix Siebler in Munich and Frankfurt last year. With this enhanced regulatory expertise and support, our highly regarded Energy & Infrastructure practice is better placed to continue to expand and to broaden its client base, most notably into the conventional energy and non-energy related infrastructure sectors”.

Maximilian said: “WFW’s extensive expertise in and focus on the energy and infrastructure sector is outstanding in Germany. Combined with its strong international network of offices, this makes the firm an excellent platform from which I can improve the service I can offer my clients. I look forward to working with all new colleagues and helping further expand the firm’s footprint in the energy and infrastructure industry”.
