Anastasia Dola is in the Maritime Dispute Resolution Group.
Anastasia specialises in dispute resolution with a focus on the shipping sector. She advises clients in relation to disputes arising out of the full range of shipping contracts including charterparties, bills of lading, COAs, MOAs, shipbuilding contracts and bunker supply contracts. She has been involved in numerous arbitration proceedings as well as English High Court proceedings and regularly handles disputes with multi-jurisdictional aspects including ship arrests and injunctions.
Prior to joining WFW Anastasia worked for an International Law Firm for around 12 years in London and Piraeus (2007-2019). She has a practical and commercial understanding of the industry having previously worked in the claims department of a leading Lloyd’s Syndicate and a Greek based shipowner.
- Involved in numerous cases arising out of the O.W Bunker bankruptcy that resulted in The Res Cogitans case heard by the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2016.
- Involved in a case concerning fraudulent bills of lading where a worldwide freezing injunction was obtained for owners and handled the multi-jurisdictional aspects arising out of the event.
- Acted for the successful owners in a major shipbuilding contract dispute concerning defective welding involving proceedings before the English High Court for the purposes of injunctive relief and resolving the matter in London arbitration.
