This transaction represents Repsol’s second renewable project financing, following a €348 m financing secured in December 2024 for the construction and development of a 400 MW Spanish renewable energy portfolio.
WFW advised Banco Sabadell on a financing granted to Enerparc AG for its 68 MWp solar PV portfolio the Balearic Islands, Spain.
WFW also advised on the due diligence process for its 1.1 GW portfolio of renewable energy assets.
Repsol has a portfolio of 60,000 MW in various stages of development.
The financing enables the construction of nearly 2 GW of solar and battery storage assets.
Spain’s e-mobility legislative framework was significantly updated and expanded in 2022 and 2023.
The portfolio comprises 12 operational wind farms with a total aggregate capacity of 487 MW.
The financing is the first green loan granted to a Spanish energy company by EKSFIN.
The loan was structured as a green facilities agreement.
The transaction involved a financing structure based on a power purchase agreement and is one of few brownfield refinancings to successfully complete to date in Spain.
The fourteen plants are all located in the Spanish regions of Aragon and Castilla-La Mancha.
