Watson, Farley & Williams is a distinctive firm. A solid City practice, we also have the commercial acumen to help our clients meet their business objectives. Our unfailing commitment to excellence for our clients has always been the focus of our development and expansion into new practice and geographical areas.

We have the skills to manage a wide range of corporate and finance transactions, and disputes, and to provide our clients with the high quality advice they require. We have teams which are integrated across legal disciplines and offices so that a consistent level of service can be provided on all matters, in each jurisdiction and in combination across borders.

Conscious that our service to clients is ever dependent on the quality of our people, we take pride in our high standards of recruitment, not only attracting talented people but also retaining them. Staff turnover is significantly below average in comparison to both the legal sector and industry more widely. Our training and development programme supports legal qualifications, professional skills and knowledge, personal development, and attendance at external conferences. We also invest heavily in graduate development, with around 35 trainees globally at any one time.

We generally work in small, partner led teams where our sector knowledge and experience enable us to provide effective, commercially focused advice. This also helps us establish candid, open relationships with our clients and encourages open and honest feedback which helps us to continually improve.

Our diversity policy includes flexible working practices, support for initiatives that aim to encourage ethnic minority groups into the legal sector, an annual monitoring of our equal pay principles, and targeted advertising to ensure our pool of candidates is the very best.

We particularly value our ‘be who you want to be’ culture – where there is no obligation to conform to a long established, corporate way of working. This collegiate atmosphere, in
which all our people are treated with transparency, reason and respect, helps to sustain the first class service we offer our clients.

At the same time, an internal audit team ensures we never compromise best practice in governance and compliance, while the Managing Partner has overall responsibility for adherence to standards and quality.
