Fundraising for charity is a way for all our employees, not just the lawyers, to benefit the local and national communities in which we live and work. Whether the initiative is in the name of the firm, an individual staff member or a client, Watson, Farley & Williams are always receptive to new ideas that make a contribution to those less fortunate than ourselves. The firm makes generous donations to assist employees' fundraising activities.

Regular payroll commitments to charity by 15% of our UK employees recently ranked us fourth among UK law practices taking part in workplace giving schemes. Our contribution also earned us the UK Government’s Gold Award for Payroll Giving.

Other recent employee and firm-wide initiatives include:

  • the Three Peaks Challenge – raising £8,500 for the British and International Sailors’ Society. Other climbs include Mount Kinabalu in Borneo, raising money for Cancer Research and Mount Kilimanjaro, raising money for Help the Heroes.
  • the Singapore Marathon - raising nearly SGD2000 for two Indian women's charities: Aman Biradari and Sahiyar (Stree Sangathan). Other runs include a 5k run in London for educational charity Gemin-I and the Singapore Nautical Run.
  • the London to Brighton Bike Ride - "Watson’s Wheelers" – a team of cyclists from the firm participated, raising nearly £2000 for the British Heart Foundation.
  • the Mirror Foundation - volunteers from our Bangkok office travelled to the Mirror Foundation, donating used computers to their "Computers for Children" project.
  • the Ploenchit Fair - our Bangkok office ran a second hand book stall, raising money for a wide range of Thai charities.
