Sarah Phillips
Trainee

I had barely finished the induction course when I was asked to go away for a two-day client meeting: it was a great way to gain a valuable insight into client relationships and also get to know the team. Since then I’ve had more and more exposure to clients from a wide range of industries.

More importantly I’ve been given encouragement and hands-on responsibility at an early stage in every seat. I acted as a daily contact for my supervisor’s clients in relation to multi-million pound ship deliveries. I researched and delivered advice on anti-competitive practices to my own client during my EU/Competition seat. I attended court with counsel in order to report back to overseas clients, unable to attend themselves, as part of my Litigation seat. These experiences have all boosted my confidence and are a great preparation for the rest of my career.
