It was WFW’s different approach to the training contract that attracted me. The guaranteed seat abroad and the opportunity to experience six seats instantly made them stand out from other firms.

As the two years progressed, I realised this unique edge extended much further. Throughout, I felt my training was somewhat tailored to my requirements and always the product of dialogue rather than decree. I enjoyed regular discussions with HR about my experience in previous seats and where I would like to go next. I was particularly interested in shipping litigation and was fortunate to be placed with a partner specialising in this area.

Although WFW trainees share a similar working ethos, I was treated as an individual and so was able, to an extent, to be the architect of my own career.
