Challenging

Delphine Joly

When I switched my career to law, it was partly for the intellectual challenge. WFW has certainly given me that. No two days are the same.  Although I’m based in shipping finance  in London, I have spent a few months in both Piraeus and Paris and also had an intensive week on a transaction in New York. The closing meeting lasted 29 hours!

I’ve regularly attended closing meetings abroad by myself since qualifying and from very early on the breadth of experience and responsibility I’ve had at WFW is far superior to that of some of my friends in larger firms.

The international aspect of what we do also means I have to adapt to the corporate style of other countries and cultures: I  really enjoy the challenge of working with such a variety of clients, foreign counsels and colleagues in our overseas offices.
