1  General

Watson, Farley & Williams respects your personal information and this Privacy Policy explains in general terms how we protect the privacy of your personal information.  The principles set out in this Privacy Policy apply to any personal information you provide to us via this website or under any agreement or arrangement and to personal information which we collect about you from other sources.

For the purposes of this Policy, “personal information” is information about, and which identifies, individuals whether that information is obtained from the relevant individual or from a third party.

By explaining our Privacy Policy to you, we hope that you will better understand how we keep personal information confidential and secure while using it to comply with our statutory obligations and provision of information about us to clients and other interested parties.

2  Disclosing your personal information

Watson, Farley & Williams acknowledge that your personal information may be confidential. We will maintain the confidentiality of and protect your information in accordance with our normal procedures and the United Kingdom Data Protection Act 1998 (the “DPA”). 

We may use your personal information in any way that we consider necessary to carry out our responsibilities to you or to maintain and preserve our records.  This may include releasing the data to third parties or transferring the data outside the European Economic Area and, to this effect, you acknowledge and agree that we may from time to time transfer any of your contact details and/or personal information overseas to any office of Watson, Farley & Williams or of any of our affiliates, agents or appointed representatives.   However, at all times your personal data will be processed in accordance with the DPA and you will be afforded the rights granted by the DPA to a data subject in respect of their personal data, whether or not your personal data is located in the UK.

As part of Watson, Farley & Williams' quality control, and with the objective of providing you with enhanced services, we may monitor the use of this website and record your email address and/or IP address. This information is collected for Watson, Farley & Williams's internal purposes only and shall not be disclosed to any other organisation except as required by law. We may use "cookies" to collect this information and track your use of this website. If you do not agree you can choose to not receive a cookie file by enabling your web browser to refuse cookies or to prompt you before you accept a cookie.

Your information may be controlled and processed by any of Watson, Farley & Williams' offices. You acknowledge and agree that the location of our offices may change from time to time and that Watson, Farley & Williams may acquire other offices in any number of other countries or territories at any time, any one or more of which may act as a controller of and/or process your information. Watson, Farley & Williams will not disclose your personal information to any other third party unless required to do so by law or regulators.

Occasionally third parties may provide storage services to us. In those circumstances, those third parties shall be required to enter into a confidentiality agreement on no less stringent terms than found in these terms and conditions and to process your data solely in accordance with our instructions.

We may also use your personal information to send to you selected information that we produce relating to Watson, Farley & Williams and/or its business.  If you prefer not to receive this type of material, please let us know.

If you provide personal information to us about someone else (such as one of your directors, employees or agent) you must ensure that you are entitled to disclose that information to us and that, without us taking any further steps required by privacy laws, we may collect, use and disclose that information for the purpose for which it was provided to us.

3 Access

You have the right to receive a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and in certain circumstances you may require us to alter or delete that personal information.  Please address requests to the Data Protection Officer, Watson Farley & Williams LLP, 15 Appold Street, London EC2A 2HB, enclosing an administration fee of £10.

4 Careers

You may submit information, including personal data and sensitive personal data, to us via the on-line application forms and email addresses as an application for a post advertised at Watson, Farley & Williams.

In acknowledging an application Watson, Farley & Williams is not verifying the content, accepting the application or making any offer of employment or engagement. Watson, Farley & Williams is not obliged to accept any applications.

Watson, Farley & Williams will process personal information submitted by you as part of your application for the sole purposes of considering applications and recruitment, and not for any direct marketing purposes.
