The Selection Process
Before making an application it is important to understand how our recruitment process works. As a starting point we suggest you visit WFW at a Law Fair during the recruitment season (October to December 2008).
You can apply using our online application form. The deadline is 22 February 2009 for vacation schemes, or 31 July 2009 for a training contract.
Applications are typically made by law students during their penultimate year for a training contract that starts two years later. Non-law students (in any discipline) should apply during their final year. We look for candidates with a predicted 2:1 degree and 300 UCAS points (or equivalent).
Vacation Scheme applicants
Selected Vacation Scheme applicants will be invited to a mini selection event at our London office in January, February or March 2009. In addition to meeting some of our current trainees, you will undertake a variety of exercises. Candidates successful at this stage will be invited to participate in a vacation scheme during Easter, June, July or August 2009.
Training Contracts applicants
There are two stages to selecting Training Contracts applicants:
In the first stage, selected applicants will be invited to a selection event at our London office from June 2009 onwards. In addition to meeting some of our current trainees, a variety of exercises are carried out.
In the second stage, selected Training Contract applicants will be invited back to our London office for an interview with one of our Partners and our Graduate Trainee Manager between July and September. Interviews typically last an hour and are made up of a discussion about your application and competency based questions. You will, of course, be given the opportunity to find out more about the firm. Offers will be made to successful Training Contract Applicants after 1 September 2009.
