  • Advising Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation in connection with the leasing of rolling stock on the WestRail extension in the New Territories
  • Advising a major US bank as equity investor in connection with the restructuring of leases of rolling stock to various European passenger rail companies to the asset value US$600m
  • Advising a US lessor in the financing of Portuguese metro trains
  • Advising on a PFI style project for the extension of a section of the London Underground to a major infrastructure facility
  • Advising Sumitomo and ICX as equity investors in the financing of approximately US$200m of rail equipment for Amtrak and also representing three equity investors in an additional financing of US$100m of locomotives for General Motors, with a sublease to Union Pacific Railroad
  • Advising a US funder in connection with the financing of Australian rolling stock
  • Acting as counsel to the arranging bank in relation to the structuring and documenting a French-UK lease financing of the sale of railcars
  • Advising on various US rail financings. Frequently advising The Fifth Third Bank, Wells Fargo, Citibank, PNC Bank, Comerica Bank, Chrysler Capital Corporation, Fleet Bank and Norlease, Inc. as equity investors in relation to lease to service contract transactions, involving European rail equipment. Our New York office has also represented Sumitomo Bank and ICX Corporation in "Pickle" lease financing of rail equipment in addition to four or five others in traditional leveraged leases of US rail equipment
  • Acting as French counsel to the lender and defeasance bank in a US$160m leasehold financing of rail equipment for a French rail operator
