Projects
We have a strong reputation for work on projects worldwide having built on our traditional strength advising on cross-border financings of high value capital assets. Our in-depth industry knowledge and the commercial nature of our approach often result in our being asked to join project or transaction teams long before external legal advisers are traditionally consulted. Our understanding of the objectives of particular infrastructure developers has enabled us to assist even in identifying opportunities for particular clients. Today this is focused on the following sectors:
Such transactions are frequently cross-border both in the commercial and financing sense, necessarily involving close cooperation between our various offices and with our colleagues in the International Finance and Tax Groups.

Our lawyers have worked on over 200 projects in 70 countries over the last 10 years and, as a result of this, we are experienced in advising on the political, legal and commercial environment within a wide range of host countries. We advise lenders and sponsors as well as offtake purchasers, construction contractors, host governments and local authorities.

In addition to advising on traditional project finance structures, our lawyers have developed increasingly innovative financing and taxbased solutions for the projects market. Most recently, we have developed a thriving practice advising private equity funds on the financing of energy project acquisitions throughout Europe.
