Watson, Farley & Williams has in depth, experience in domestic and cross border financings in the energy sector. This includes both onshore and offshore energy and the complex array of associated financial and legal issues. From the firm’s various offices, our lawyers operate as integrated teams, providing practical, commercially focused advice on every aspect of this complex industry.
Our power practice comprises 14 partners and 21 assistant solicitors working from the firm’s offices in London, Piraeus, Bangkok, Paris, Rome, Hamburg, New York and Singapore.
We have advised on power generation transactions ranging in size from 20 Megawatts to over 1000 Megawatts in virtually every fuel category - coal, biomass, oil, LNG, waste, hydroelectric, geothermal, natural gas, nuclear biomass, waste to energy and wind (onshore and offshore). We have also advised on transactions in the transmission, distribution and supply sub-sectors including privatisations. As at 1 January 2006 our lawyers had worked on 180 power transactions in 45 countries.
Our power clients include financiers, specialist funds, developers and operators of power plants, operators of electricity transmission and distribution facilities, operators of international utilities in the electricity sector, major EPC contractors, power marketers, lenders, governments and international financial institutions.
