ICT Experience
- Advising Ipnotic, an IP telecom operator on its €9.65m venture capital financing with Turenne investing €3.05m, followed by CM-CIC Private Capital with €2.5m, CDC Innovation Enterprises with €2.1m and A Plus Finance €2m
- Advising Seven Publishing Limited on the acquisition of New Crane Limited, the magazine publishing company founded by Delia Smith and her husband Michael Wynn Jones
- Acting for Vivendi and its Polish telecoms partner, Elektrim SA in two connected arbitrations with T-Mobile over a 51% block of shares in Central Europe's largest mobile phone operator PTC (worth over US$1.1bn)
- Advising the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation on the financing of the sale and purchase of US$440m of high-end technology equipment. The loans were advanced to a Singapore incorporated special purpose vehicle and each loan was secured over the equipment and the income stream. The structure was further supported by third party guarantees and other novel credit enhancement techniques
- Advising Intermediasud (first French municipal telco) in its telecommunications strategy including the setting up of subsidiaries and a joint venture agreement with LD com
- Advising Publicis Limited in relation to music rights clearance for a TV advertising campaign
- Advising Siemens Financial Services on all aspects of its online leasing operations including regulatory, data protection and IT issues including the affect of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations
- Advising the NC Numericable (second largest cable operator in France, a subsidiary of Canal Plus) in a dispute against France Telecom
- Advising SDX Business Systems Plc on a £1,124m recommended takeover offer of the whole of its share capital by a subsidiary of Lucent Technologies Inc
- Drafting a master distribution and licensing agreement for a US software developer for its European operations and advising on the relevant regulatory requirements under EC and UK law
- Advising Redwood Publishing Limited on intellectual property issues in relation to its publishing and new media businesses
