  • Advising ICAP on the successful defence of an injunction application concerning a derivatives trading platform
  • Acting for a major bank in multi-jurisdictional proceedings bought by a Greek ship owner seeking to sue a syndicate of banks led by Fortis for US$1.2bn million arising from the enforcement of security over a fleet of vessels.
  • Acting for a subsidiary of Calyon in a contested action where the client (formerly a bank) faced substantial counterclaims based arising from (it was alleged) negligent investment advice.
  • Acting for BGB in the defence of a substantial claim bought by Ace Bermuda who were the political risks insurer of a CDO securitization. The case concerns emerging market CDOs and complex questions of Chinese and Malaysian law.
  • Acting for one of Germany’s leading shipping banks in multi-jurisdictional proceedings bought by a Turkish ship owner seeking to sue the bank for US$90 million arising from the enforcement of security over a fleet of vessels.
  • Acting for several private equity funds; including US fund Atlantic Equity Partners in a dispute with Banque Paribas over an investment in Peek Traffic management.
