WFW has tracked the EU's competition rule changes for maritime transport ever since the European Commission published its White Paper in October 2004. The firm's Competition and Regulatory Group issued a comprehensive analysis of the likely effects of the reforms in April 2005 and subsequently circulated three additional editions with the last appearing in September 2008.

In addition, WFW has issued periodic bulletins covering intervening events, for example, the publication of the European Commission's competition guidance for vessel owners and moves to reform the EU's so-called consortia block exemption. These publications are available here
Finally, WFW designed and promoted a bespoke solution for ship-owning entities looking to cooperate within pool-like structures in the future called Scheme 810.
