Commercial Litigation
Our experience in acting in very large, technically complex disputes puts us on a par with the litigation teams of much larger firms. Our group has particular expertise in matters relating to international finance and trade, shipping, construction, fraud, energy, insurance, technology and telecommunications.

The strongest feature of our practice is the international nature of the disputes.

We have extensive experience in all aspects of international dispute resolution (whether litigation, arbitration or ADR) and our particular expertise includes:
  • jurisdictional issues, including obtaining anti-suit injunctions and challenging jurisdiction
  • managing foreign litigation and running parallel cases in separate jurisdictions
  • enforcing English judgments abroad and foreign judgments in England
  • emergency injunctive proceedings, including freezing orders and search orders.

The Litigation Group has a thriving general commercial litigation practice which covers a wide range of disputes in the following sectors:
  • banking and finance
  • power/energy
  • construction
  • offshore oil & gas
  • maritime
  • shareholder/partnership
  • commodity disputes
  • ICT
  • transport disputes

As litigation becomes ever more complex and international, we have developed the expertise and spread of offices which enable us to protect our clients' interests worldwide. Our clients demand, and we provide, inventive and commercial solutions to their problems. We can provide rapid and highly focused advice at the outset of any dispute. If a commercial solution cannot be found, we have a proven track record of managing the largest cases all the way through to trial.
