Summary Open

Susanne is a Partner in the Finance group. Her practice focuses on asset and structured finance, notably aviation and maritime.

Susanne advises domestic and international borrowers, project sponsors, banks and institutional investors across a range of asset and structured finance transactions including restructurings. Her work includes advising on New York law loan and security documentation, locally and in cross-border, multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Susanne has presented at conferences, contributed to legal journals, and graduated from Tulane University. She is a member of the New York City Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Experience Open

    Susanne’s experience includes:
    • Advising vessel owner with respect to US$300m project financing of U.S. Jones Act tankers.
    • Advising on creation of warehousing structure ownership of distressed fleet of offshore support vessels.
    • Advising borrower with respect to Spanish ECA-backed vessel construction and financing.
    • Advising an aircraft-leasing company in connection with an US$85m senior secured financing of Agusta Westland AW139, Sikorsky S-76C++ and Sikorsky S-92 helicopters.
    • Advising a helicopter leasing company in connection with a senior unsecured financing of US$60m.
    • Advising a helicopter-owning company in connection with the US$125m financing and refinancing of Bell Helicopter 412EP helicopters.
    • Advising purchasers on the acquisition and financing of private jets.
    • Acting for DBS with respect to the PDP financing of 12 A320s for Tiger Air.
    • Advising two German banks regarding the consensual repossession of three B747 freighter aircraft from a Chinese airline and on the refinancing arrangements in respect of two of the aircraft.
    • Advising a state-owned electricity network operator in connection with the collateralization of obligations owed by a major U.S. insurance company in relation to, and the subsequent restructuring and early termination of, cross-border leases involving power transmission equipment with an aggregate appraised value of approximately US$1bn.
    • Advising the project sponsor in connection with a US$488m loan facility provided by a leading multinational development bank and a syndicate of commercial banks to finance the construction and operation of a semisubmersible drilling vessel for use in Brazilian territorial waters.
    • Terminating and restructured more than 50 lease transactions including combined sale and termination of all leases in lease portfolio.
