Experience Open

    Simon’s experience includes advising:
    • Institutional investors on a £1.3bn investment-grade bond in relation to the acquisition by leading Danish pension funds PKA and PFA of a 50% stake in 659 MW Walney Extension offshore wind farm from Ørsted. The deal is valued at £2bn, of which £1.3bn is being funded through the issuance of the bond.
    • Ørsted on amendments to the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm joint venture arrangements in connection with the privatisation of UK Green Investment Bank Plc, and subsequently, the acquisition by Green Investment Group of Marubeni’s 25% stake in the project.
    • Ørsted on the reorganisation of the Lincs offshore wind farm joint venture arrangements to facilitate the introduction of shareholder level debt financing.
    • Ørsted on the reorganisation of the Lincs offshore wind farm joint venture following the decision of partners Centrica and Siemens Project Ventures to sell their respective 50% and 25% stakes in the Lincs projects. Ørsted retains its 25% stake in Lincs.
    • Ørsted and ScottishPower Renewables in relation to the “second transitional tender round (2b)” OFTO asset sale relating to the West of Duddon Sands offshore wind farm.
    • A global solar developer/operator in relation to the acquisition of three ground-mounted solar projects in the United Kingdom.
    • Ørsted in relation to the refinancing by OPW of its original acquisition financing in respect of its percentage shareholding in the Walney offshore wind farm.
    • Eurus Energy in relation to the construction and financing of the Hoeg Jaeren onshore wind farm in Norway.
    • Falck Renewables Plc in relation to the expansion of the Ben Aketil and Millennium onshore wind farms.
    • Ørsted in relation to four “first transitional round” OFTO asset sales relating to Barrow, Gunfleet Sands and Walney I and II offshore wind farms.
    • Ørsted and Siemens Project Ventures on the acquisition of a 50% equity stake in the 270 MW Lincs offshore wind farm project from Centrica Plc through a joint venture company.
    • Belwind N.V in relation to the arrangements for the financing, construction and operation of the 165 MW first phase of the Bligh Bank offshore wind farm located off the Belgian coast.
    • Plambeck Neue Energien in relation to the sale of the Gode Wind offshore wind farm.
    • Matrix-Securities Ltd in relation to the acquisition by two limited liability partnerships, by means of a lease agreement, of two wind farms located in Italy, and a €1.1bn refinancing.
