Malte Jordan is a partner in the Corporate Group of Watson Farley & Williams. He specializes in M&A transactions, corporate restructurings and corporate finance, with a particular focus on private equity transactions and investments in renewable energy. His clients include investors, project developers and banks.

After studying in Hamburg and London, Malte started his career in an international law firm in 2003, and joined Watson Farley & Williams in 2008.

Malte is cited in the JUVE Handbook 2014/2015 as a frequently recommended lawyer for energy related transactions and financings in the area of renewable energy. In Chambers Europe 2014 he is ranked as a key individual in the energy sector.

Experience Open

    • Advising a consortium of international banks on the financing of the 400 MW offshore wind farm “Veja Mate” in the German North Sea
    • Advising PNE WIND AG on the sale of “Gode Wind I”, “Gode Wind II” and “Gode Wind III”, one of the largest offshore wind farm project portfolios in Germany, to DONG Energy Wind Power A/S.
    • Advising an international consortium of lenders led by Dexia Crédit Local and KfW IPEX on arranging project financing of the German offshore wind farm project “Meerwind”, with a total capacity of 288 MW and a total investment volume of EUR 1.2 billion.
    • Advising KfW IPEX, Dexia Crédit Local, Société Générale, Nord/LB, EIB and other commercial lenders on the financing of the offshore wind farm project “Global Tech I” with a total capacity of 400 MW and a debt volume of more than EUR 1 billion.
    • Advising PNE WIND AG on the acquisition of a 83 per cent stake in WKN AG, Husum, from Siemens Project Ventures GmbH and Volker Friedrichsen Beteiligungs GmbH.
    • Advising Union Investment, a German fund manager, on various acquisitions of onshore wind-farms in Germany and Ireland.
    • Advising PNE WIND AG on the acquisition of the three offshore projects “Aquamarin”, “Bernstein” and “Citrin” with a combined capacity of 1200 MW from BARD Engineering GmbH.
    • Advising a European infrastructure fund on the sale of an onshore wind farm portfolio consisting of five wind farms with a total capacity of 72.5 MW.
    • Advising a European infrastructure fund on the acquisition of two solar projects with a total capacity of 40 MWp.
    • Advising PNE WIND AG on the sale of seven onshore wind farms with a total capacity of 53 MW to EnBW Erneuerbare Energien GmbH.
