Lucy originally joined Watson Farley & Williams in 1996 as a trainee. Since qualification in 1998, she has worked in the firm’s Singapore and London offices on a variety of ship finance, aviation and other asset and structured finance transactions. In 2005 she moved to Toulouse, France and continued to provide transaction support to the Greek, Singapore, Paris and London offices of the firm mainly in relation to complex ship finance and restructuring transactions.
Between 2009 and 2013 she worked as senior legal counsel for the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus in Toulouse, France supporting the sales, finance and asset management teams on all areas of the aircraft manufacturer’s business.
Lucy re-joined Watson Farley & Williams in 2013 to continue her work advising major international ship finance banks, other financial institutions, major international shipowners and operators on ship finance transactions and she has a broad range of experience working on complex financing structures, sale and charter backs, distressed debt transactions and debt restructurings generally.
She is also experienced in advising on the sale and purchase of new and used aircraft, operating leases, the structuring and documentation of pre-delivery payment finance in the context of new aircraft orders and post-delivery aircraft finance.
