Experience Open

    Joe’s experience includes advising:
    • DONG Energy on the reorganisation of its Lincs offshore wind farm joint venture following the decision of partners Centrica and Siemens Project Ventures to sell their respective 50% and 25% stakes in the Lincs project. DONG retains its 25% stake in Lincs.
    • PKA, one of Denmark’s leading pension funds, on its acquisition of a 50% stake in the Teesside Renewable Energy Plant in the North East of England. The investment bank Macquarie Capital holds the remaining 50%, and the total investment in the plant is anticipated to be in the region of £900m.
    • DONG Energy in relation to the partial sell-down of DONG Energy’s interest in the London Array wind farm, including in relation to the PPA offered to the buyer, technical issues relating to price adjustments in the SPA.
    • Royal Bank of Scotland in relation to the bankability of a PPA offered to the borrower to a UK onshore wind farm.
    • DONG Energy in relation to the amendment of the JOA for the London Array offshore wind farm to accommodate a project financing by Masdar and future sell-down flexibility for DONG Energy.
    • DONG Energy in relation to the divestment of DONG Energy’s interest in the Gunfleet Sands offshore wind farm, including in relation to the finance-related PPA structure, and other technical issues such as yield-based adjustments.
    • Falck Renewables in relation to long term PPAs for a number of UK onshore wind farm projects.
    • DONG Energy in relation to the divestment of DONG Energy’s interest in the Walney offshore wind farm, including in relation to the finance-related PPA structure.
    • DONG Energy in relation to the negotiation and drafting of a joint operating agreement regulating the UJV for the West of Duddon Sands offshore wind farm.
    • DONG Energy in relation various aspects of the UJV for the London Array offshore wind farm, including drafting early JDA arrangements, the negotiation and drafting of the JOA in 2007 and its subsequent amendment in 2009 and the purchase by DONG of the interests of Shell and Farm Energy.
    • Viridis Energy in relation to the acquisition of a large portfolio of UK landfill gas generation assets.
    • Excelerate Energy on the commercial and construction agreements for an LNG gas import project into the port at Teesside, UK (WFW won The Lawyer’s Infrastructure Team of Year 2007 Award for its work on this deal).
