Experience Open

    John’s experience includes advising:
    • OMV AG, on the sale of two wholly-owned subsidiaries comprising its upstream exploration and production business in Pakistan to Dragon Prime Hong Kong Ltd for a consideration of €157m.
    • OMV AG and OMV Exploration & Production GmbH on the sale of 100% of the shares in its wholly owned subsidiary OMV (U.K.) Ltd to Siccar Point Energy Limited (backed by Blackstone Energy Partners and Blue Water Energy) for a consideration of up to US$1bn.
    • OMV AG and OMV (U.K.) Ltd, a subsidiary of OMV, on the divestment of a 30% interest in the Rosebank Field and related Licences (the “Assets”) to Suncor Energy UK Ltd for a consideration, subject to adjustments, of up to US$215m (US$50m at completion and up to US$165m upon the final investment decision on the development of the Rosebank Field). OMV UK has retained a 20% interest in the Assets.
    • Perwyn on the potential acquisition of two infrastructure companies.
    • OMV on the divestment of its participating interest in the Bina Bawi field, Kurdistan Region of Iraq to Genel Energy.
    • OMV on the UK aspects of the acquisition of oil and gas interests in the UKCS (Rosebank and Schiehallion) and Norwegian Continental Shelf (Gullfaks and Gudrun) from Statoil worth US$2.65bn.
    • OMV on its €247.9 million acquisition of a 20% stake in the Edvard Grieg oil field development from RWE Dea
    • OMV (UK) Limited on its farm-in to five exploration blocks in the Faroes Islands from Statoil.
    • Perenco on the sale of its interests in the Offshore North Sinai Concession, Egypt.
    • OMV on its country entry and potential acquisition of exploration assets (Block I and Block Q) in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
    • OMV on the acquisition of a 25% participating interest in five production sharing contracts (Bina Bawi, Shorish, Rovi, Sarta and Mala Omar) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq from the Kurdistan Regional Government’s public company, KEPCO.
    • OMV on its acquisition of a 10% shareholding in Pearl Petroleum Company from DanaGas and Crescent (Pearl holds the 100% participating interest in the Khor Mor and Chemchemal fields in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq).
    • Petromatad on its farm-out of exploration assets in Mongolia.
    • OMV on the divestment of its exploration and production business in Turkey.
