Chris is an Associate in the Employment group in the London office of Watson Farley & Williams.

Chris advises on contentious and non-contentious employment law for companies and also for senior executives and individuals. Chris’ non-contentious experience includes advice on contracts and consultancy arrangements, policies and handbooks, and transactional corporate support. His contentious experience includes advising in respect of matters before the Employment Tribunal. Prior to specialising in employment law, Chris worked in the City as a litigator and has extensive litigation experience before the High Court and Court of Appeal.

    • Advising medium-size, national and multinational companies on the full range of employment law matters and HR queries including hiring, use of consultants, grievances, disciplinaries, and terminations.
    • Drafting and advising on senior, mid-level, and junior employment contracts, and associated bonus and commission schemes across a range of sectors including financial services, technology, leisure, and manufacturing.
    • Drafting and advising on the use of consultancy agreements across a range of sectors including manufacturing and domestic services.
    • Extensive corporate support experience for acquisitions across a range of sectors including technology, transport, manufacturing, and food processing, including red flag and full due diligence reports, advice on warranties and indemnities, resignation letters and settlement agreements.
    • Advising insurance intermediary group on the employment law aspects of the acquisition of an insurance broker and underwriting agent, including drafting the employment aspects of the red flag due diligence report.
    • Advising a leading transport company on the UK employment law aspects of the acquisition of an international competitor, including advice on union recognition issues.
    • Advising senior and mid-level executives across a range of sectors, including financial services and technology, in respect of their settlement agreements and negotiations regarding the same.
    • Advising yacht owners on captaincy and crewing agreements for high value yachts operating in the UK and EU, and the rights of their crew members. Advising ship owners and operators on seafarer employment agreements and employment status of those working on board.
