Summary Open

Colin is a Partner in the Energy & Infrastructure group based in London. He has over 18 years’ experience working on the development of projects in the energy, power and resources sectors.

Colin has extensive experience advising on upstream oil & gas, pipeline projects, energy off-take agreements and operational arrangements in multiple jurisdictions, including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the United States, Canada, and South America. He has worked on projects through the LNG value chain in the Atlantic and Pacific basins, including LNG liquefaction and regasification projects, long-term gas and LNG sales and LNG shipping matters.

Colin has also advised in the development, regulation and sale of conventional and renewable power projects, including hydro-electric, gas-to-power, and nuclear assets. He has also advised on project development, M&A, concessions and related regulatory issues in the mining sector.

Colin speaks French, German, Mandarin and Spanish.

Experience Open

    Colin’s experience includes advising:
    • Zarubezhneft on its acquisition of an ownership interest from Total E&P Russia in the Kharyaga field.
    • SNAM SpA on its acquisition of an interest in the Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline.
    • The Shah Deniz consortium on the Shah Deniz Phase 2 project in Azerbaijan, the transportation and sales of gas to Europe and on new-build gas pipeline projects in Turkey, South-East Europe and the Adriatic. Genie Oil & Gas on proposed shale oil developments in the Mongolia and Israel.
    • Albanian Ministry of Energy and Industry on its new form of production sharing agreement.
    • CNPC on long-term gas purchases and the structuring of a major gas transportation system in Central Asia.
    • A UK infrastructure fund on its bid for a controlling interest in an LNG project.
    • PETRONAS on its bid for LNG to power capacity in the Chilean power auction.
    • PETRONAS on Atlantic Basin LNG trading contracts.
    • SOCAR Trading on its sale of LNG to a new regasification project in the Mediterranean, and on related commercial arrangements for an LNG FSU.
    • Various international majors on the negotiation of LNG throughput rights, including bi-directional throughput rights, at US Gulf LNG terminals at Sabine Pass, Lake Charles and Freeport.
