Andreas joined Watson Farley & Williams’ Singapore office in 2012 as a newly qualified solicitor and transferred to the London office in 2016. Andreas works in the litigation group and handles a wide variety of international work including dry shipping and commodity disputes, shipbuilding and offshore projects and disputes, international arbitrations and general commercial litigation. Andreas acts on behalf of various clients including owners, contractors, charterers and state owned entities.

Experience Open

    Andreas’s experience includes:
    • Advising a large state-owned oil company in respect of numerous legal issues arising from the proposed deferral of certain operations from their integrated gas fields project in Indonesia.
    • Advising and representing a large state-owned oil company in its negotiations of numerous agreements governing the design, engineering, construction and installation of a gas processing facility in its integrated gas fields project in Indonesia.
    • Acting for the Claimant buyers of a state-of-the-art FPSO in LCIA arbitration proceedings in London against the Respondent builders in respect of their late delivery of the FPSO and repudiatory breach of the parties’ EPC Contract.
    • Acting for the Respondent purchasers of a thermal steam coal cargo in ad hoc London arbitration proceedings brought by the Claimant sellers in respect of the purchasers’ alleged repudiatory breach of the sale contract.
    • Acting for the Respondent purchasers in ICC arbitration proceedings in Singapore brought by the Claimant sellers of a thermal steam coal cargo in respect of claims arising from the purchasers’ alleged rejection of that cargo and counter-claims arising from the sellers’ alleged non-delivery of that cargo.
    • Representing a large state-owned company in respect of claims arising from the off-specification quality and quantity of nickel ore supplied to it pursuant to a long-term supply contract.
    • Representing the Claimant buyers of baghouse internal components in ICC arbitration proceedings in Singapore arising from the Respondent sellers’ non-delivery of that equipment.
    • Acting for a syndicate of lenders in enforcement proceedings against the provider of a corporate guarantee in respect of various borrower events of default which resulted in aggregate debts in excess of US$15m.
    • Advising the purchasers of a new-build vessel in respect of their claims for liquidated damages arising from delays in the builders’ delivery of the vessel and acting for the purchasers in the subsequent delivery and registration of the vessel.
    • Representing a ship owner in their negotiations of the NSF 2012 MOA terms for the purchase of a second-hand barge and acting for the purchasers in the subsequent delivery and registration of the vessel.
