Andreas is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution group. Andreas joined Watson Farley & Williams’ Singapore office in 2012 as a newly qualified solicitor and transferred to the London office in 2016.

Andreas has experience in international dispute resolution in both arbitration and litigation in various commercial sectors including, among others, energy, construction (both onshore and offshore), shipping and banking.

Experience Open

    Andreas’s experience includes:
    • Advising a major European offshore wind farm developer/owner in relation to numerous disputes with contractors and OFTOs in respect of several UK offshore windfarms.
    • Advising a further major European offshore wind farm developer/owner in relation to disputes with contractors on a further UK offshore windfarm and additional disputes arising from the proposed extension of that UK offshore windfarm.
    • Acting for an EPC contractor in connection with disputes relating to liquidated damages, revenue credits and the construction of an EfW plant in the UK (including in a related mediation and PAP proceedings).
    • Advising several UK based solar farm owners in respect of disputes arising from the deficient performance of numerous UK solar farm assets and related calls on performance guarantees and warranty bonds.
    • Advising an Austrian contractor in respect of disputes arising from the performance of industrial machinery supplied to a UK utility company for installation in a London-based power station.
    • Acting for a UK based purchaser/owner in respect of disputes arising from the defective performance of construction works at a large scale residential development in the Midlands and related calls on performance guarantees.
    • Advising a UK based owner/developer in respect of liquidated damages claims (and competing extension of time and loss and expense claims) under a JCT 2011 standard building contract without quantities for the demolition of the existing property and redevelopment of three luxury flats in London.
    • Advising the tenant of several floors in a large scale commercial development in London in respect of defect claims against the landlord and developer, the subsequent negotiation and settlement of those claims, and the performance of remedial works.
    • Advising a Malaysian oil-field contractor in respect of disputes arising from the negligent displacement of and damage to an infield pipeline during offshore installation works.
    • Advising and representing a large state-owned oil company in their negotiations of numerous agreements governing the design, engineering, construction and installation of a gas processing facility in their integrated gas fields project in Indonesia.
    • Advising a large state-owned oil company in respect of numerous legal issues arising from the proposed deferral of certain operations from their integrated gas fields project in Indonesia.
    • Acting for the buyer/owner of a state-of-the-art FPSO in LCIA arbitration proceedings relating to the Chinese shipyard’s delayed delivery of the FPSO.
    • Acting for a major South East Asian ship-owner in consolidated LMAA arbitration proceedings arising from defects discovered in a series of bulk carriers under construction at a Chinese shipyard and the subsequent rejection and termination of certain of the underlying shipbuilding contracts.
