Adam specialises in project financings in the energy, infrastructure and natural resources sectors, on which he advises borrowers, sponsors and lenders. Adam also has a complementary breadth of experience from a variety of financing, M&A, capital markets and general corporate matters in numerous sectors.

    Adam’s recent experience includes advising:
    • Tengizchevroil and its sponsors (Chevron, ExxonMobil, KMG and Lukoil) on the $16bn multi-source (commercial bank, bond and sponsor co-loan) project financing of Tengizchevroil’s $42.5bn expansion and modification of its upstream operations at the Tengiz super giant oilfield in Kazakhstan (European Oil & Gas Deal of the Year, PFI Awards 2016, and European Upstream Oil & Gas Deal of the Year, IJGlobal Awards 2016).
    • Oyu Tolgoi, a subsidiary of Rio Tinto, on its $4.4bn multi-source (commercial bank, ECA and IFI) financing of the world’s largest gold and copper mine under development, in Mongolia (Asia-Pacific Mining Deal of the Year, PFI Awards 2015, Finance Deal of the Year: Projects, Asia Legal Awards 2016 and Asian-mena Counsel Deal of the Year 2016).
    • Emirates Aluminium on the $4bn multi-source (commercial bank, ECA, Islamic, hedging bank and unsecured working capital) financing of its smelter plant in Abu Dhabi, the world’s largest single-site smelter complex (Middle East Industrial Deal of the Year, Project Finance Awards 2013).
    • The bank lenders and underwriters to Dolphin Energy on the $4.1bn refinancing of the Dolphin pipeline between Qatar, the UAE and Oman and a subsequent further financing in the bond market.
    • Goldman Sachs on disposals of portfolios of European hotel chains.
    • FiatChrysler on the establishment of a €20bn euro medium term note programme listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.
    • One of the world’s largest producers of ATMs and other financial infrastructure on a mandatory disposal of its UK business to a competitor.
    • A private equity fund on the establishment and ongoing administration of management equity plans for its portfolio companies.
