Alexander is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution group in the London office of Watson Farley & Williams.

Alexander joined the firm as a Trainee in 2014 and qualified in 2016. He has experience in a wide range of international disputes, with a focus on construction and engineering disputes as well as general commercial litigation. He has worked in both the London and Bangkok offices of the firm and has particular experience in the high end residential and energy sectors.

    Alexander’s experience includes:
    • Acting on behalf of a developer in respect of a series of linked adjudications concerning high profile and value, high end residential developments.
    • Acting for a contractor in respect of a dispute with the employer relating to the construction of a UK based EFW plant.
    • Acting for the leaseholder of a significant quantity of apartments within a high rise hotel and apartment development in Cardiff, Wales, in relation to external cladding and fire safety remedial works following the Grenfell disaster.
    • Advising the UK arm of a large international contractor in relation to fit out works it is undertaking at a high-end residential development near Hyde Park Corner, London. The underlying contract was an amended JCT Trade Contract 2011.
    • Advising a major Danish renewable energy company in respect of the drafting of various amendment agreements and the issuing of notices relating to the fabrication, construction and installation of various components for offshore wind farms.
    • Acting for a regional groundworks subcontractor in respect of a debt claim against a former director and the related unfair prejudice and shareholder proceedings.
    • Acting for a high net worth Nigerian individual in respect of a High Court claim brought by the vendors of a property in North West London following the aborted sale of that property.
    • Advising a private developer in respect of the appeal of an enforcement notice relating to a mixed residential and commercial development in East London.
    • Acting on behalf of a private developer in respect of a dispute with subcontractors relating to the development of a high value central London property.
    • Advising a long lease commercial tenant of a five story office building in central London in respect of construction contracts based on the JCT forms relating to fit out works and structural alterations to be undertaken whilst in occupation.
    • Advising a South East Asian coal-fired power plant operator in relation to potential arbitration proceedings for non-payment, arising out of construction delays and defects, being brought by the construction contractor.
    • Advising a South Asian government and related state entities in respect of existing ICSID arbitrations, brought by a Canadian oil and gas exploration company, arising out of gas well blowouts.
    • Acting for a Swedish energy company in relation to the failure of an offshore sub-sea export cable and a potential claim arising out of that failure.
    • Advising a major Thai newsprint producer in a US$multi-million pulp and paper dispute with a Chinese paper machine supplier. The matter was in Hong Kong arbitration and subject to Chinese law.
    • Acting for a Korean EPC contractor in connection with a £multi-million claim under an EAR insurance policy in respect of the construction of a seawater cooling system at a combined-cycle power plant in Ghana.
