WFW advise Chaarat Gold Holdings Limited on its takeover of Kyrex Limited

29 Jul 10

Watson, Farley & Williams (‘’WFW’’), a leading international law firm, has advised Chaarat Gold Holdings Limited (“Chaarat”) on its takeover of Kyrex Limited (“Kyrex”). The takeover was declared unconditional by Chaarat on 27 July 2010.

Chaarat is an AIM listed exploration and development company operating in the Kyrgyz Republic with its main current activity being the development of the Chaarat Gold Project. The Chaarat Gold Project is situated within the Middle Tien Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan which form part of the Tien Shan gold belt.

Kyrex is a private exploration company with four large licence areas in the north west of the Kyrgyz Republic. The company’s three most prospective assets are Chontash (a skarn molybdenum-gold-copper deposit), Mironovskoye (a gold-silver-copper deposit) and Kyzil Ompulan (an early stage licence area in which a number of small gold, copper, molybdenum, lead and uranium deposits have been delineated).

Jan Mellmann, partner and head of the International Corporate Group, led the team for WFW and was assisted by solicitors Gareth Burge and Georgina Don.

Jan Mellmann, partner and head of the International Corporate Group, comments: “We have assisted Chaarat for a number of years and are pleased to have advised on this latest acquisition which marks a new phase in the company’s development. The transaction also underlines WFW’s position as one of the leading international law firms advising resource companies on AIM”.
