Watson, Farley & Williams London employment partner Angharad Harris, who is also chair of the Law Society’s Employment Law Committee, has been appointed a member of the Working Party that carried out the Fundamental Review of Employment Tribunal Rules. The review was commissioned by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills at the end of 2011 to “simplify the rules, and to provide a framework to manage cases flexibly, efficiently, proportionately and where possible, consistently, providing certainty to all parties who participate in the employment tribunal process”.
The new draft rules proposed by the Working Party were submitted to Norman Lamb, Minister for Employment Relations, earlier this month. The Government will now carry out a consultation on the rules.
In his letter to the Minister, Mr Justice Underhill (former President of the Employment Appeals Tribunal and the chair of the Working Party) also thanked Watson, Farley & Williams for hosting many of the meetings.
