Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that Pierpaolo Mastromarini has joined the firm as a partner in the Finance practice in Italy. His particular focus will be developing the firm’s project finance capabilities in Milan and Rome, but he will also support the firm’s corporate and regulatory practices.

Pierpaolo is qualified in both Italy and England and Wales and has extensive experience advising both sponsors and lenders on cross-border banking and finance and project finance transactions. He joins WFW from Bonelli Erede Pappalardo Studio Legale and has also worked for Allen & Overy in both Rome and London, and Deutsche Bank in London. His appointment follows partner Paul Doris joining the Energy & Projects practice in London in November.

Eugenio Tranchino, partner and WFW Head of Italy, commented: “Pierpaolo’s experience and expertise mesh nicely with our existing capabilities in Italy and allow us to expand our offering and provide clients with a full service energy practice in Italy.”

Lothar Wegener, WFW managing partner, added: “Being able to welcome a lawyer of Pierpaolo’s pedigree to the firm not only speaks to our ability to attract top talent, but also highlights a key aspect of our growth strategy for the wider firm of expanding our services offering within our core sectors of expertise.”

Pierpaolo Mastromarini, said: “I am very pleased to join Watson Farley & Williams and look forward to working with the lawyers in Milan and Rome, and throughout the firm. WFW’s marketing-leading energy and infrastructure practice provides an ideal platform for me to grow my practice and enhance the firm’s full-service finance capabilities.”
