WFW expands Madrid Asset Finance practice with new Counsel hire6 February 2019

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is expanding its Asset Finance practice in Madrid with the hire of Counsel José María Pery Riera.

An expert in maritime law, José María was a Principal Associate at Uría Menéndez from 2000 to 2011, advising national and international clients on purchase and sale agreements, asset financing and construction transactions in the maritime, transport and logistics sectors. He then worked as a Legal Director for specialist consulting firms,  where he supervised and lead negotiations on services agreements relating to engineering  projects in both Spain and globally, as well as advising on administrative procurement agreements, overseas subsidiary and insurance policy and claims.

José María graduated in law from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE) in 1990, then obtaining an LLM specialising in maritime law from University College London in 1994.
