WFW announces eight new Partner promotions for 201915 April 2019

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has promoted eight lawyers to the firm’s partnership for 2019, bringing the total number of Partners to 171. They are:

José María Anarte – Banking & Finance, Madrid

José María specialises in project finance, particularly, energy, transport and infrastructure projects. His client portfolio includes sponsors, banks, investment funds and institutional investors.

Susanne Burstein – Finance, New York

Susanne advises domestic and international borrowers, project sponsors, banks and institutional investors across a range of asset and structured finance transactions, most notably in the maritime and aviation sectors. Her work includes advising on New York law loan and security documentation, locally and in cross-border, multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Devan Khagram – Employment, London

Devan advises on contentious and non-contentious employment law for both companies and senior executives, including executive level service agreements, termination of employment and redundancies.  He has a particular expertise in advising on the employment aspects of share and business acquisitions and complex TUPE related advice, including on outsourcing agreements. Devan also specialises in business immigration matters, in particular complex and discretionary applications.

Emmanuel Ninos – Energy, London

Emmanuel specialises in project development in the energy (renewable and conventional), infrastructure and natural resources sectors. His practice includes advising on construction contracts (including EPC contracts), operation and maintenance contracts, and supply and offtake contracts. He has experience in working in the UK and internationally, having advised on projects in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. His clients include funders, sponsors and contractors.

Anna Robinson – Employment, London

Anna’s practice spans a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, acting for both corporates and senior executives.  She is also an expert in business immigration.  Anna has notable experience assisting clients with large scale reorganisation and collective redundancy exercises as well as complex employment litigation.

Heike Trischmann – Corporate, London

Heike advises governments, national and private companies, banks, regulators and individual investors on a broad range of international and domestic corporate, commercial, regulatory and projects in the oil and gas sectors.  Her expertise spans production sharing agreements, concessions and licence arrangements, M&A and farm-ins, joint operating agreements, supply, transportation, storage and access agreements, trading and other commercial contracts and regulatory matters. She also has experience in the electricity and water sectors.

Jon Thursby – Energy, Singapore

Jon is a projects lawyer, but specialises in advising on the construction-related aspects of energy projects.  His experience includes advising sponsors, financial institutions and contractors in relation to large energy projects, including solar, biomass and offshore wind projects, in Asia and Europe.  Jon also advises on energy and other construction-related disputes.

Jörg  Walzer – Tax, Hamburg

Jörg comprehensively advises clients in the maritime sector, private equity firms and strategic investors on complex national and international M&A transactions, including providing tax advice on tax-optimised structurings, due diligence, financings, contracting and potential restructurings associated with such transactions.
