WFW announces 2012 partner promotions

Watson, Farley & Williams, a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of nine lawyers to partner. The appointments, in five of the firm’s 13 offices, take effect from 1 May 2012, and bring the total number of partners in the firm to 126.

The promotions globally are broken down as follows:

Daisy East – Project, Export & Commodity Finance, London
Daisy advises sponsors and lenders on all aspects of project financed transactions in the energy, mining and petrochemical sectors.

Asha Kumar –Employment, London
Asha regularly deals with both contentious and non‐contentious employment law matters including strategic advice on global business reorganisations.

Toby Royal – Asset Finance, London
Toby focuses on commercial shipping work ranging from sale and purchase, newbuilding and construction, ship management agreements, joint ventures through to operating and finance leases.

Richard Stephens – Tax, London
Richard advises UK and multinational companies on all aspects of UK corporation tax, including in particular lease finance, tonnage tax, and renewable energy.

John Kissane – Litigation, New York
John specialises in commercial, insurance, maritime and bankruptcy litigation and arbitration. His experience includes real estate disputes, charterparty disputes, vessel sales, commercial fraud litigation, insolvencies and workouts.

Sven Fretthold – Project & Structured Finance, Hamburg
Sven specialises in project finance work with particular focus on renewable energy. He acts for lenders, sponsors and borrowers in domestic as well as international project financing transactions.

Ivan Chia – Corporate, Singapore
Ivan handles a range of corporate and commercial transactions in the energy and transport sectors, with particular emphasis on renewables projects.

Dan Thompson – Litigation, Singapore
Dan advises on commercial contracts and disputes focussing on shipbuilding, construction and offshore oil and gas, energy and natural resources.

Chris Osborne – Corporate, Bangkok
Chris leads the firm’s international and Thai law corporate practice in Bangkok with focus on cross‐border M&A, joint ventures, energy, real estate, restructuring and regulatory compliance.
