Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, has advised Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG (“Berenberg Bank”) and KBC Deutschland AG on the financing for the acquisition of Aqua Vital Quell- und Mineralwasser GmbH (“Aqua Vital”) by Halder Beteiligungsberatung GmbH (“Halder”).

In June 2013 Halder, a specialist for investments in mid-cap companies, acquired all the shares of Aqua Vital, a leading provider for water coolers in the commercial sector. Halder has been active as a shareholding investor in Germany since 1991 and has supplied 35 mid-cap companies with capital for succession and growth.

Aqua Vital has been founded in 1999 and distributes water coolers to organisations that provide employees and customers e.g. in workplaces, waiting areas or canteens with high quality drinking water. The client base consists of 30.000 leasers nationwide with predominantly perennial contracts. The company has more than 200 employees.

Following Halder’s investment, the two directors of Aqua Vital aim to enhance the company’s growth strategy including the development of potential new markets in neighbouring countries.

The WFW team, which has also advised Berenberg Bank on previous projects, was led by partner Dr. Stefan Kilgus (Project & Structured Finance, Hamburg). He was supported by Alexander Wojtek (senior associate) and Pascal Unger (associate – both Project & Structured Finance, WFW Hamburg).
