Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, has advised HSH Nordbank AG (“HSH Nordbank”) on the financing of the two sub-projects of the Finnish “Ylivieska Pajukoski” wind farm.

For the first part of the wind farm project, HSH Nordbank provided long-term financing of €16 million for the developer and investor reconcept GmbH. This wind farm consists of two Vestas V126 wind energy turbines with a hub height of 137 metres. The second part of the wind farm project consists of seven wind energy turbines of the same type for which HSH Nordbank provided financing of €64.6 million. The investor is the Finnish company Taaleritehdas PLC.

The “Ylivieska Pajukoski” wind farm is located in the region of Ylivieska in central Finland, and has a combined capacity of 29.7 MW.

The WFW team was led by Hamburg-based partner Thomas Hollenhorst (Banking & Finance). He was supported by senior associate Alexander Wojtek and associate Dr. Daniel Valdini (both Banking & Finance, Hamburg). For the Finnish law aspects of this transaction WFW worked closely together with its Finnish correspondent law firm Krogerus.

The lead partner and lawyer Thomas Hollenhorst said: “We are very delighted that we have been able to support our long-standing client HSH Nordbank on their market entry into Finland with our significant experience in cross-border energy projects.”
