13 August 2012

Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has advised Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (“Nord/LB”) on the acquisition financing for the purchase of frostkrone Holding GmbH (“frostkrone”).

Nord/LB, a leading commercial bank in North Germany, has financed the purchase through an AXA Private Equity fund.

frostkrone is a German-based manufacturer of frozen finger food and snacks. The cheese company Bornholter Käsevertriebs- und Produktions GmbH was also part of the acquisition.

The WFW team was led by Dr. Stefan Kilgus (Project & Structured Finance, Hamburg). He was supported by partners Tobias Ackert (Tax, Munich) and Dr. Sebastian Baum (Corporate, Hamburg) as well as associate Dr. Wichard von Hoff, LL.M. (Finance, Hamburg).

AXA was advised by SJ Berwin and Taxess. The seller was advised by Osborne Clarke.

Dr. Stefan Kilgus, partner, commented: “We regularly advise Nord/LB on project finance in the fields of renewable energy and ship financing, and we have also negotiated acquisition financing with Nord/LB on behalf of the borrower. This transaction represents the first time we have advised the client on an acquisition financing and we are therefore delighted to be able to strengthen and deepen our client relationship with Nord/LB.”
