Watson, Farley & Williams, a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has advised Matra Petroleum on a proposed placing to raise £4.6 million.
Matra is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in Russia. The company has entered into an agreement with investor Maxim Barskiy, who will also become a non-executive director. The net proceeds of the placing will be used to advance Matra’s existing operations on its Sokolovskoe Field in Orenburg, Russia, and develop its ventures strategy and acquisition plans in Russia and further afield.
The team from WFW was led by partner Chris Kilburn, and assistant Ben James, both based in London.
Commenting on the deal, partner Chris Kilburn said: “We have advised Matra for a number of years so it is very exciting to be part of the company’s ambitious growth plans. This is a significant step for Matra as it develops its acquisition and expansion strategy.”
