11 January 2016

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised renewable energy company SunEdison, Inc. and its affiliate SunEdison Italia Holdings B.V. on the sale of four solar French photovoltaic plants to international solar power producer Sonnedix through its affiliate Sonnedix B.V. The four plants have a maximum aggregate capacity of 23.58 MW.

The transaction was implemented through the execution of a purchase and sale agreement of the 100% share capital of French company AES Solaire France S.A.S., the indirect beneficiary owner of the plants.

US-headquartered SunEdison is a global leader in solar photovoltaic and semiconductor technology and a major provider of innovative solar energy solutions, with more than 5 GW of solar photovoltaic energy under management in 1,000+ plants worldwide.

The WFW team advising SunEdison was led by Madrid Managing Partner and Corporate Head María Pilar García Guijarro, working closely with New York Partner Steven J. Hollander. Madrid associate Eduardo Dachary and Paris Senior Associate Sabrina Delean assisted.

María Pilar commented: “We are delighted to have successfully advised SunEdison, Inc. on this transaction in the key photovoltaic sector, demonstrating once again WFW’s leading role in the secondary market”.
