Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that its Partner Alan Polivnick of the firm’s Bangkok office has been invited to join the Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors for 2012/2013. The nomination was held as part of the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting in Bangkok on Wednesday 2 March 2011.
Alan moved to Bangkok to join Watson Farley & Williams in 2007. He is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Group and focuses on cross-border arbitration and dispute resolution. He has also advises multinational companies, international airlines, insurers and reinsurers and international organizations on their operations in Thailand. He is recognised by legal publications as a leading aviation, shipping and maritime lawyer. He is qualified to practise in England and Wales and Australia.
The Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (AustCham Thailand) acts as a contact and information point for Australian businesses in Thailand, Australian businesses wishing to trade with or invest in Thailand and, similarly, for Thai enterprises interested in doing business with or in Australia.
AustCham Thailand aims to provide quality and constructive input into the formulation of policies impacting on business (both by the Thai and Australian governments), and their administration, and to contribute to the development of relations between the two countries. The Chamber is a member of the Board of Trade of Thailand.
The Board of Directors consists of 12 executive representatives of prominent business leaders from various industries. The Board acts to develop and direct policy for the Chamber.
