New lateral partner hire boosts WFW’s Real Estate finance capabilities

30 April 2015

Watson Farley & Williams’ Real Estate practice has been significantly bolstered by the addition of highly regarded real estate partner Ranjeev Kumar in its London office. Ranjeev’s real estate finance expertise provides an ideal complement to the firm’s existing Real Estate practice and a catalyst for the next stage of WFW’s growth in the real estate sector.

English law-qualified Ranjeev advises clients on all types of domestic and cross-border real estate transactions. However, with investment by international funds, investors, and substantial family offices and businesses having helped to drive the UK and European real estate markets in recent years, his expertise in real estate finance will help the firm capitalise on this trend and further grow its inbound investment client base, and also complement the firm’s existing practices, including the Hotels practice. His addition is another example of WFW’s commitment to investment in its key sectors and drive to expand its services offering.

WFW Global Head of Real Estate, partner Mark Prevezer commented: “We are delighted to have Ranjeev on board. He helps us build our real estate finance capabilities and complements our existing strengths within the sector group, allowing us to advise clients from funds, to international investors, and family offices and their businesses, particularly in Asia and the Middle East.”

WFW Managing Partner Chris Lowe added: “The Real Estate sector has been an ongoing success story for WFW. Ranjeev joining the firm adds significant real estate finance experience to the team, which will help us to continue to grow the practice, not only in London, but in Germany and New York as well.”

Ranjeev Kumar, said: “The strength of the WFW brand and the resources available to support my practice provide a great fit for me and were ultimately pull factors that were too strong for me to ignore in looking to take the next step in my career.”
