WFW won International Firm of the Year at The Lawyer European Awards, announced in Monte Carlo on Thursday 25 October. The firm also won Best Legal Practice in Northern Germany at the JUVE awards, which were also held on the same night.
At The Lawyer European Awards, WFW beat a competitive field of other shortlisted firms. The awards were judged by a panel of senior in-house counsel and UK managing and senior partners. At both awards, WFW won for the first time in these categories.
In its write-up of the awards night, The Lawyer said: “Watson, Farley & Williams has developed a tailored international strategy and this is paying dividends in Germany, where the firm’s Hamburg and Munich offices, focused on shipping and energy, are doing particularly well.”
Lothar Wegener, partner and head of WFW Germany said: “These two awards are testament to the hard work of our team in Germany and in partnership with WFW’s other offices. We have worked on some of the most pioneering deals of the past few years, so it is fantastic to get this recognition. All partners are very proud of everyone who has contributed to these wins, and we would like to thank you all.”
Michael Greville, managing partner, said: “These awards cap a very successful year for WFW and I am proud of everything our firm has achieved.”
