Summary
Dr. Stefan Kilgus joined Watson, Farley &
Williams, Hamburg, as a partner in the International Finance practice group
in July 2007. Previously, he was a partner at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey,
Frankfurt.
His focus is advising on major finance
transactions. Such transactions will commonly be syndicated, multi-tier,
secured and cross-border and can have as varied finance purposes as corporate
and real estate acquisitions, renewable energy projects and PPP and
infrastructure
projects. The industry publication JUVE Handbuch 2006/2007 says that he
is often recommended for loans and acquisition finance and cites a competitor
saying that Stefan knows his job ("kennt sein Geschäft").

- Advising Springwater Capital regarding
the financing arranged by LBBW of the acquisition of the engineering group
M+W Zander
- Advising Grainger Plc. on the financing
of the acquisition of various German residential real estate portfolios,
arranged by Royal Bank of Scotland resp. Eurohypo, London
- Advising Cerberus on the financing of the
acquisition of the Baubecon residential property portfolio, arranged by
Merrill Lynch
- Advising private equity investors on the
financing of their acquisition including advising the financing of Riverside's
acquisition of Lautsprecher Teufel, the financings of the acquisitions
of inter alia specialised technology solutions provider, a chemical company,
a mixed used property in Munich, a portfolio of commercial properties in
a major Central Eastern European city
- Advising on project finance including a
lead bank on the financing of an infrastructe PPP-Project in Eastern Germany,
acting as counsel to the deal for a German bank and the sponsors regarding
the financing of a waste incineration project
- Advising on various transactions relating
to renewable energy projects and financings, inter alia wind farm acquisitions,
wind farm financing restructuring, biodiesel projects
